4 New Year’s Resolutions For Sports & Fitness Enthusiasts

As 2020 approaches, perhaps the sports enthusiasts amongst you are thinking about trying something new? Each year gives us another opportunity to ramp up our fitness goals and give ourselves a fresh challenge. For those sports fanatics looking for some inspiration, here come five ideas to consider adding to your 2020 list!

1 . Sign up for a marathon

Running a marathon is the ultimate bucket list sports achievement. If you’re looking to increase your fitness next year, training for a marathon will certainly do the trick! Many individuals like to begin with a half marathon, before braving the full 26mile challenge. Training is important, so getting started right away is a good idea. By increasing your running distances over time, you can improve your cardiovascular health as well as burn plenty of calories. Choose a charity that means something to you and dedicate your achievement to a good cause.

2. Try an extreme sport

Perhaps there’s an extreme sport you’ve always wanted to try? Why not make 2020 the year that you take the leap? From bungee jumping to indoor skydiving, round up a friend or two if you’re not keen on braving it alone. Snowboarding is a super fun extreme sport that many of us want to try at least once. As well as being unique and enjoyable, snowboarding arrives with lots of health benefits. You’ll work on your flexibility, balance, and your core strength too. Some beginners like to take lessons at an indoor snowboarding centre before an outdoor snowboarding trip.

3. Invest in a personal trainer

If you’re serious about your sports and fitness goals, trying a personal trainer could be a great shout. A personal trainer can help you to practice a fitness regime that’s catered to your aims. They can also give you advice on food and nutrition. Working with a personal trainer can help you to achieve fast results in terms of losing fat and building muscle. You can also learn about how to avoid injury in your regular sports activities and workouts.

4. Join a sports team

If you’re someone who gets bored of the same old regime at the gym- why not shake it up and join a sports team? Joining a sports team can allow you to improve your overall fitness, core strength, and cardiovascular health. As well as this, you’ll get the chance to extend your social circles and improve your sporting skills. Choosing a sport you already enjoying watching can help to get you all good and motivated! Before long, you could be part of a great team with your own custom uniforms and personalized lineup cards. From softball to baseball, or basketball- choose something you’ve always wanted to give a go.

New Year’s Resolutions don’t always have to be about achieving certain goals; they can simply be about experiences you’d like to have. (With this in mind, buying yourself a baseball season ticket could be just as good an idea)!
