Graduate Student Assistantships in Atmospheric Science, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The Atmospheric Science Program in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee invites applications to our graduate program at the M.S. and Ph.D. levels (http://brock.math.uwm.edu/program/grad.html). Both research and teaching assistantships are anticipated to be available starting in Fall 2014.

Our program is led by 7 faculty members (http://brock.math.uwm.edu/faculty/index.html). Research specialties include climate dynamics, air pollution meteorology, cloud physics, severe storms, tropical cyclones, and related topics across dynamic, synoptic, mesoscale, and physical meteorology. Our location within the Department of Mathematical Sciences enables fruitful research collaborations with mathematicians. Our program emphasizes student development and has an excellent student-faculty ratio. Our program has been successful in placing recent M.S. and Ph.D. graduates in gainful employment in academia, the private sector, and at operational forecast centers.

Application instructions are available at http://www4.uwm.edu/letsci/math/graduate/admissions.cfm. Apply early to receive highest consideration for available assistantships. Prospective students interested in the research of a particular faculty member are encouraged to directly contact that faculty member to discuss potential research opportunities.
