AOL CEO Tim Armstrong Fires Employee (AUDIO)

AOL CEO Tim Armstrong hosted a meeting on Friday morning with a 1,000 or so employees of AOL’s local news network, Patch.

Armstrong says things like: “If you don’t believe what I’m about to say, I’m going to ask you to leave Patch… We have to get Patch into a place where it’s going to be successful.”

After a while, he told Abel Lenz, Patch’s Creative Director, “Abel, put that camera down, now” then “Abel, you’re fired. Out.”

The recording was obtained by media business blog Romenesko and now posted on Soundcloud.
