1,000 Flights Canceled in Chicago Airport Due To Extreme Snow Day
Nearly 1,000 flights have been canceled in Chicago airports as a fierce winter storm threatens to dump as much as 10 inches of wind-whipped snow in time for the evening commute.
The Chicago Department of Aviation said Tuesday that more than 770 flights were canceled at O’Hare International Airport. Airlines have canceled more than 215 flights at Midway International Airport. No significant delays were reported at either airport.
The winter storm will dump the heaviest snow in Eastern Minnesota, eastern Iowa, western/far southern Wisconsin, northern Illinois, northern Indiana, then into western Ohio and the central Appalachians by Tuesday evening.
