Chicago Woman

18-year-old Janay Mcfarlane was killed the same day her sister attended Pres. Obama’s speech on gun control. Her sister, Destini Warren, was in fact on the stage and had sat behind the President.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Janay was shot in the head at around 11:30 p.m. Friday in North Chicago.

McFarlane, of the 8900 block of South Lowe Avenue, was visiting friends and family in North Chicago when she was shot on her way to a store in the northern suburb, her family said.

Police have said it was a case of mistaken identity, and two people have been charged.
