Melrose Place Actress Sentenced: Amy Locane-Bovenizer Goes To Prison

Amy Locane-BovenizerAmy Locane-Bovenizer was sentenced to 3 years in prison. The Melrose Place actress faced the Judge at the Somerville, N.J. courtroom Thursday after she was convicted her of vehicular homicide in the 2010 death of 60-year-old Helene Seeman in Montgomery Township. Locane-Bovenizer was driving drunk when her SUV plowed into a car and killed Seeman.

According to NY Daily News, the judge lowered the maximum sentence, from 10 years to 3, citing the hardship on Locane-Bovenizer’s two children. One has a medical and mental disability.

Locane was a member of the original cast of the prime time soap opera Melrose Place, but left the series after only 13 episodes.

Among Locane’s film roles, she played Johnny Depp’s love interest in John Waters’ 1990 cult-classic film Cry-Baby. She also twice played the girlfriend of Brendan Fraser, in the films School Ties and Airheads, as well as Jessica Lange’s daughter in the 1994 film Blue Sky.
