Subway Sued Over Footlongs Not Measuring A Full Foot

SUBWAY-FOOTLONG-FACEBOOKWell, it all started with a post last week about an 11-inch Subway Sandwich footlong. The photo that was posted on Facebook has gotten viral and triggered an uproar from customers. On Tuesday, it has gotten more complicated as two Jersey boys sue the sandwich chain for selling so-called footlong sandwiches that measure a bit less than 12 inches.

Stephen DeNittis, the lawyer for the plaintiffs in the New Jersey suit, said he’s seeking class-action status and is also preparing to file a similar suit in Pennsylvania state court in Philadelphia. He also said that he measured sandwiches from 17 different Subway shops and every one came up short of the length as advertised.

“The case is about holding companies to deliver what they’ve promised,” he said.

Plaintiffs — John Farley, of Evesham and Charles Noah Pendrack, of Ocean City are asking for compensatory damages and a change in Subway’s practices, according to Huff Post.
