Obama 51 Percent Approval Rating Says CBS News/New York Times Poll
According to the latest poll conducted by CBS News and New York Times, Pres. Barack Obama enters his second term in office with a 51 percent approval rating. The number is lower than his December 2012 rating of 57%, but higher than where it stood at this point last year (47%).
Obama’s highest rating was 68 percent in April 2009.
Among key issues, Obama rated high on foreign policy at 49% and low on handling the deficit at 37%.
Note: The poll was conducted by telephone from January 11-15, 2013 among 1,110 adults nationwide.
