Of all the children shows out there, I can block out 99% of them if my day requires me to. I can meander around the house working away never really being distracted or annoyed by the songs. But here is one show that drives me batty and of course it is my son’s favorite. It is Thomas the Train on www.direct.tv.

As cute as one episode is, three or four has me reaching for my headphones and drowning out the annoying little English songs . The show is so obsessive about being useful and Sir Tophum Hatt has all the trains scared to death. I just cannot figure out why this very popular children’s series makes me want to pull my hair out. Thank goodness for my generous music collection. I can listen to Radiohead while my son listens to silly little songs that make him dance around the living room like it’s the best thing he ever heard. I can break out in a dance with him, but he has no idea it is NO THANKS to Thomas!
