Glee Star Iqbal Theba and Dare2Dream Challenge

Glee’s Iqbal Theba, America’s Best Known Principal and Honorary Principal of SuperFutures.com, kicked off a national Dare2Dream challenge and introduced new “GleeK” technology to provide online guidance counseling and help America’s youth reach their dreams.

“The SuperFutures Dare2Dream challenge mirrors the messages Glee talks about, basically saying that the dreams of today’s youth matter and should be encouraged,” says Theba, who plays “Principal Figgins.” “Funding for college planning and career preparation is desperately needed… so I got involved with SuperFutures to help bridge that gap and prepare today’s youth for success.”

“Whether their dream future includes starting a business, creating a dance troupe, climbing the corporate ladder to CEO, becoming a community activist or politician, or skyrocketing to the top of the charts as a rock star, SuperFutures wants to hear from them,” said Jennifer Openshaw, CEO of SuperFutures and Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal columnist.

Designed with Harvard experts, SuperFutures is the nation’s first college and career planning community focused to help teens answer: What do I want to be when I grow up? And, how do I get there today? The site features how-to videos, webinars, and personalized coaching and courses from real world experts helping youth explore passions, college majors, and career options through successful skill building.

The Dare2Dream challenge, made possible by online textbook rental company, Chegg and its philanthropic program, Chegg for Good, asks entrants between the ages of 14 and 21 to create a 2-5 minute video expressing their personal dream using their own unique personality and performance style. Ten finalists will receive a Cheggucation pack including an iPad 2, homework help subscription and more! The grand prizewinner will receive a trip for two to Hollywood to meet Glee’s Theba. To enter, go to www.superfutures.com/dare2dream or facebook.com/superfutures.

“Chegg for Good and SuperFutures share the same mission: empowering students to make the world a better place,” said Chegg Chief Marketing Officer, Esther Lem. “We’re excited to support a program that inspires students to excel beyond their wildest dreams!”
