Liberty University Softball Team Beats Radford

The Liberty University Lady Flames softball team took a 3-1 victory over Radford on Saturday to claim the 2011 Big South Championship title.

The championship marks Liberty’s second title in program history. Their first came in 2002.

Liberty is now 30-28 on the year and will move on to the 2011 NCAA Division I Softball in the Knoxville Regional this weekend. They will face Tennessee, the championship’s overall No. 14 seed, in the first round on Friday.
