Christina Taylor Green – Dallas Green Granddaughter Killed in Shooting

The name of the 9-year-old girl that was killed in yesterday’s Arizona shooting is Christina Taylor Green – the granddaughter of Dallas Green, advisor to the Phillies. Christina was born on Sept. 11, 2001 and was featured in the book “Faces of Hope: Babies Born on 9/11.” You can check out the book at Amazon: Faces of Hope, Babies Born on 9/11.

Arizona Republic reports: “Christina had just been elected to the student council at her school. The event, held outside a Safeway supermarket north of Tucson, was an opportunity for constituents to meet Giffords and talk about any concerns they had related to the federal government.”

Dallas Green, 76, lives in Newark, Del. A former major-league pitcher, he managed the team for parts of three seasons, including the 1980 season in which the team beat the Kansas City Royals for its first championship. He also managed the New York Yankees and Mets and was general manager of the Chicago Cubs.
