National Night Out 2010
The final schedule has been released for the National Night Out 2010 at Penn Park, Fisher Street.
This year’s theme is “Unity in the Comm-Unity”
Speakers for the event will be MPD Southside Captain Joe Ballus, former Board Supervisor isadore Knox, Sherri Carter, chair of Penn Park Partners; and Kaleem Caire- Urban League CEO.
The event kicks off with the Madison Police Department and Fire Department Safety Night starting at 4:00 pm.
6:15 welcome and speakers – Capt.. Joe Ballus; Sherri Carter and Isadore Knox
6:30 Community meal – with guitar music
7:00 Musical performances followed by Words from Kaleem Caire – UL CEO
7-7:30 VIP dance number; Spoken Word and Rap by local youth
7:30 Selection by Augusta Staples and other local artists
7:40 Madison’s own “hip hop cop” Anthony Ward
8:15 Candlelight march through neighborhood
9:00 UW Space Place Star Gazing – weather permitting
