Red White And Boom 2010 Independence Day Parade

Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Scott Arniel will make a special appearance at Red White and BOOM 2010 on Friday, July 2nd as the AEP Independence Day Parade presented by Sonic Drive-In Grand Marshall. Arniel will lead over 80 entries from Central Ohio in the parade, which will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Broad Street at COSI heading east, proceeding north on Front Street.

The Blue Jackets named Arniel the new head coach of the National Hockey League franchise, club General Manager Scott Howson announced June 8. Arniel (pronounced ahr-NEEL) agreed to a three-year contract through the 2012-13season and was introduced at a press conference at Nationwide Arena.

Arniel joins the Blue Jackets after spending four seasons as head coach of the American Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose, the top affiliate for the Vancouver Canucks. He led the club to a 181-106-33 record (.617) from 2006-10, including North Division titles during the 2006-2007 and 2008-2009 seasons, four playoff appearances and a trip to the 2009 Calder Cub Final.
