Thomas Roberts – The View Interview

NBC news anchor, Thomas Roberts, appeared on The View today, Tuesday and revealed that he was also a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of a former Catholic priest.

In 2005, after years of remaining silent about the abuse he suffered while a student at Calvert Hall College High School by Father Jerome F. Toohey Jr., Roberts came forward to testify against his abuser.

Toohey ultimately pleaded guilty to the sexual abuse charges and was given five years behind bars, but ended up spending only 10 months in jail and eight months under house arrest.

In 2007, Roberts sat down with CNN’s Anderson Cooper to discuss his experience as an abuse victim in a special segment called ‘Sins of the Father.’
