Ron Banks Dies

The popular R&B soul group member of the The Dramatics, Ron Banks, died of a heart attack at Detroit’s Sinai hospital.

Ron Banks of the Dramatics Passes Away

The 58-year old Banks was a founding member of the group which was formed in Detroit in 1962. The 6-member group was signed to Stax/Volt Records and were responsible for such hit records as “In The Rain,” “Me and Mrs. Jones,”and “Get Up And Get Down.”

Two other members of the Dramatics also died of heart attacks (Elbert Wilkins in 1992 and William “Wee Gee” Howard in 2000). No further details of Ron Banks’ death were available at press time. Check back with BET.com for updates and funeral information.
