Alzheimer’s disease causes memory loss and brain decline, and right now, there’s no cure. Most treatments just help manage symptoms. But scientists are now looking into kefir, a fermented drink full of good bacteria (probiotics), as a possible way to support brain health. Kefir may help by improving gut health, reducing brain inflammation, and even lowering the buildup of harmful proteins linked to Alzheimer’s. It also contains vitamins that are important for brain function.
A recent review article published in the journal “Brain Behavior and Immunity Integrative” found that kefir may reduce brain damage, boost memory, and decrease inflammation. While more research is needed, kefir shows promise as a natural support alongside regular treatments for Alzheimer’s.
