Inauguration Time of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States

The inauguration ceremonies of Joe Biden as the 46th president of the United States will happen on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 around 11:30 a.m. ET. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is expected to be sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor shortly before noon.

The president-elect will be sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts at around noon ET on the Capitol’s West Front. After that, Biden will deliver his inaugural address.

Superstar Lady Gaga will sing the national anthem. Jennifer Lopez will also perform.

No inaugural balls this year. A primetime special “Celebrating America” will be held instead on Wednesday night from 8:30-10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The program will be carried live by ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, and PBS.
