Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit Cast and Instagram Accounts

Netflix premiered its new series The Queen’s Gambit on October 23, 2020 and immediately became the #1 most-watched show in America.

The Queen’s Gambit is about the gifted girl, eight year-old orphan Beth Harmon (played by Anya Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy). She is quiet, sullen, and by all appearances unremarkable. That is, until she plays her first game of chess. Her senses grow sharper, her thinking clearer, and for the first time in her life she feels herself fully in control. By the age of sixteen, she’s competing for the U.S. Open championship. But as Beth hones her skills on the professional circuit, the stakes get higher, her isolation grows more frightening, and the thought of escape becomes all the more tempting. Based on the book by Walter Tevis.

Premiere day #TheQueensGambit @netflix! This was a dream job getting to work with the genius #ScottFrank again. I loved playing Mrs. Helen Deardorff. And how special to be reunited (on or off screen) with some of the key crew and actors of #Godless again (@matthewdennislewis @russelldennislewis @michtesoro @composer313 @sprancey @sammysoule1 #ThomasBrodieSangster #StevenMeizler #JudyDickerson #SusanHsu). We shot this a year ago in my other home country ?? (in Berlin!) and the German crew like @mathias_datow @gabatron95, actors and people of @xfilme were amazing. ?????

**gushy luvvie post alert** Now that #TheQueensGambit has been released (on Netflix) I think I can share a few behind the scenes pictures from the shoot last year in Germany. What an absolute joy this job was! To work with #scottfrank was a privilege and an education. Generous, sensitive, always insightful and never dull, Scott is not only an actor's director but also a technical master of his craft. I learnt so much from him ??? #neverstoplearning And to play alongside the likes of @anyataylorjoy @itsmechristiane #sophiemcshera @jonjooneill @patrick__kennedy @marianmeder #billcamp @maddie_holliday was simply way too much fun! And of course we couldn't have done any of it without the wonderful make up @danielparker.art #lizzielawson and costume departments, and on the floor @mathias_datow amongst many others. Thank you Scott, and thank you Netflix for bringing #waltertevis 's novel to the screen after 30+ years of development hell. So very proud of being part of this gorgeous show. There.
