Why You Should Bring Your Exercise Outdoors
It’s not always hard to hit the gym, but it’s the place people turn to when they want to exercise and get fit. The thing is, when the weather turns you want to ditch the sneaker-stink in the air and you want to get outside. It makes total sense: working out is hard enough but it makes it easier if you’re in the sunshine and getting the breeze under you while you sweat it out. You can believe that nature is the best place to get fit, especially once you get out there.
Think about it: if you take your hobbies outside, why not your workouts? When you go on your first time walleye fishing, you breathe in the air and you take in all of nature. That feeling makes you feel peaceful and bright, and if you can imagine how good that makes you feel, imagine it when you’re working out! So, with that in mind, let’s look at some of the best reasons you should bring your workouts into the great outdoors.
- You will workout much longer when you’re outside. If you’re running, you’re going to notice the view changing – you don’t get that changing view in the four walls of a smelly gym. You will end up working out for longer because you’re enjoying your surroundings.
- You will burn more calories outside than you will inside. The terrain outside is very different, and the impact on your body changes because of it. Factoring in the wind and other variables from being outside, and you’ll be able to burn off way more calories when you get outside.
- When you don’t have to go to the gym for your exercise, you save yourself the cost of membership every month. Not only that, but you no longer buy those smoothies or coffees from the cafe after the workout. You can waste a lot of money in the gym, but when you workout outside, you no longer spend out like that!
- Working out while you’re outside can make you far happier than staying inside! You will be breathing in fresher air and feeling the sunshine on your face while you exercise, and this will up your endorphins and make you feel good. There’s far less stress when you are outside and you’re not closed in while you sweat!
- You choose the scenery when you workout outside. You can go to the beach and swim in the sea, or you can run on the trails in the countryside. Even getting your strength workout in the middle of a field completed can change the way that you feel about a workout. There are far better ways to exercise when you are outside, and you can really enjoy it instead of dread it.
If you’re willing to spend time outside catching fish, you should be willing to spend time outside catching your own breath as you work on your body. You need to bring your exercise outside – try it and see!
