Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte Updates the Nation on Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Government Efforts

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte addressed the Filipino people and reassured them of the government’s continuous efforts in safeguarding their welfare amid the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), during his live-streamed message to the nation on March 30, 2020.

A week after signing Republic Act No. 11469 or the ‘Bayanihan to Heal As One Act,’ President Duterte vows that government shall take the necessary actions and implement key measures to provide the basic needs of his ‘kababayans’ and eventually overcome the effects of the pandemic in the country.

Likewise, the Chief Executive recognizes the heroism, sacrifices and efforts of all the health workers and frontliners during the enhanced community quarantine.
