Where Is Climate Change Taking Us?

Climate change is a pressing matter that more of us need to be focusing on, yet the majority of us aren’t. We have noticed an increase in people taking an interest in things such as plastic pollution, which is great. Plastic is clogging up our oceans more than we realise, and for those of you who don’t understand the severity of it, it’s threatening the food chain of the sea that we so heavily rely on, without us even realising it. But plastic pollution is actually just the tip of the iceberg, and the one issue that seems to be getting all of the limelight at the minute. There are tons of other issues surrounding climate change that the world needs to be aware of, and no, the ice melting is not the only other issue. Climate change is such a dense issue that our great world is trying to tackle, but for every step we take forward, we seem to take ten steps backwards with the terrible effects of climate change that we’re seeing. So, we want to explore where it’s taking us, where we might be in ten years time, and what can be done to try and reverse the effects. If climate change is something you’re becoming more aware of and worried about, then keep on reading to get yourself more clued up about it!

Where Might We Be In Ten Years Time

With the way that the world is going at the minute, it’s scary to think how it might be in ten years time. It seems that everything is going downhill at the minute. You’ve got countries that are at war with each other, others trying to start wars or political battles with each other, and generally just a threat to the world that hasn’t been seen before. It doesn’t seem to be getting any easier either, as the years go on it seems we as humanity are creating more problems than we’re solving. But in terms of climate change, it’s truly frightening where we might be. The ice caps are melting, and sea levels are rising, meaning that some islands and countries that we know and love, just won’t be the same. It’s said that islands such as Mauritius will be completely submerged in our lifetime. A truly wonderful habitat ruined due to the effects of climate change. It’s also going to be likely that health issues are going to be on the rise due to the pollution in the air. Our bodies are not designed to cope with the chemicals that pollution is bringing. So in ten years time, we could be dealing with a whole new bag of issues, both relating to us and relating to the changes in the world.

What Are We Doing To Make A Difference

Even though the issues seem to be on the rise, the amount of publicity that climate change is getting now means there are new technologies being created to help reduce the harmful effects of emissions and gasses being plunged into the atmosphere. One of them is the way that we convert energy, which has long been renowned for causing harmful emissions. But a biogas plant is aiming to change all of that, by creating a more sustainable and environmentally friendly way of converting products into energy. In this instance, it uses manure to produce methane, which is then used to power the homes we live in, the offices we work in, and the general power that we use.

What Changes Are Happening Right Now

So we’ve spoke about how the ice caps are melting, and plastic pollution is on the rise each year, but there are so many more issues that are happening in our world. One of the biggest issues we’re facing at the minute is the world is heating up, which in turn is making the very visible changes to the sea levels and ice volume in the world. But it’s not just the ice and the sea levels that we should be worrying about. The rise in the earth’s temperatures is making the world a lot hotter in general meaning that forest fires are becoming ever more frequent, and habitats becoming inhabitable. There are so many other changes that we as humans are creating, such as the lack of forestry which will in turn ruin food chains. We could spend the whole article speaking about the changes, but we suggest that you have a quick Google search to see for yourself!
