How To Be A More Efficient And Well-Ordered Person
Whatever we do in life, we want to do it correctly and with minimal fuss. Whether it’s work, domestic life, relationships, or sports, getting over the line smoothly and comfortable would be welcomed. Sometimes, the things we do are dealt with super simply – no bumps of hiccups along the way. Other times, however, they can feel like a huge slog.
Whilst the tougher jobs are a real pain in the backside to complete, there are heaps of ways we can get them done quicker and simpler. It may always seem as though the smarter and more together people are the ones that handle tasks efficiently, but anyone can do it. The reason why these guys and girls are seemingly more poised and productive is that they’ve practiced different techniques and worked at things.
If you want to be a more efficient and well-ordered person, there’s no stopping you, in all honesty. You just have to divert from your current plan and try new things. Let’s go through a bunch of ways you can increase your efficiency in pretty much all walks of life.
Plan Things Out
When you have an idea of what you’re about to do, then it makes everything so much easier. No matter what the situation is, getting rid of those mental (or actual!) roadblocks will make the time taken shorter and ease your mind. For example, if you have a big essay to hand in, are you going to write it all out in one go, or would it be wiser to write out the skeleton, say, the night before, so that you can fill in the meat quickly and intelligently the next day? Probably the latter, right? Likewise, if you have a plan for your day, then you’re going to worry less about getting everything done in time or before a deadline.
Get Into A Routine
Sticking with the idea of planning ahead, creating a routine and sticking to it would absolutely turn you into a more efficient and organized person. Firstly, because this kind of behaviour would stick with you. It would transcend just your morning or your evening. You’d want to do pretty much everything in an orderly and systematic fashion. When you have an almost robotic way of doing things, you’re going to get them done quicker than if you’re meander around like the flawed human that you are.
In terms of morning and evening routines, you’re going to be more set for the day ahead if you have everything sorted beforehand. If you get up at different times and eat and different times, you’re going to be all over the place in terms of organization. Routines aren’t for everything, but they certainly do more good than bad.
Eat And Drink Enough
When we’re hungry and/or thirsty, we become super irritable, and not a lot of productive work gets done. It sounds super simple, but make sure you’ve got enough energy in your body when you have important things on your plate. You can become super demotivated just by being hungry or thirsty, so remember to top up regularly.
See How Others Operate
There are people out there that have got so much done due to their work ethic and approach. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if you were to take one or two things from mega efficient individuals. Whether it’s people right at the top like Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg, or whether it’s people in a particular niche, like Cynthia Telles, stealing little bits and bobs, and applying them to your life could do you wonders.
Create Small Goals
When you have one big goal ahead of you, it’s natural to slow down a little. Whether it’s due to lack of motivation or the realization that there’s still a lot of time left to complete it, we take our feet off the gas a tad. If you had tinier challenges, however, picking up the pace might come a little easier. Creating smaller goals could inch you closer to completion a lot quicker, but it could also allow you to tackle the overall project from different angles.
Use Better Tech
We all have computers, gadgets and software in this day and age. If you don’t, then you should invest in some. We don’t all have the privilege of owning speedy, top of the range gear, though. Having newer, faster and more convenient technology could be the difference between efficiency and inefficiency. If you have an old, busted laptop, then you might want to purchase a Macbook or something like this. You could also use handy programs to organize your workflow and various aspects of your job.
