Filipino Priest Father Don Lacuesta Suspended For Suicide Homily

Father Don Lacuesta of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Temperance, Michigan had been suspended after his homily on suicide made national headline.

Lacuesta handled the service of 18-year old Maison Hullibarger who committed suicide last December 4.  During the homily, instead of giving uplifting words to the Hullibarger family, he instead called their Maison a sinner and sermonized on the morality of suicide.

The Hallibargers were shocked and requested for the removal of the priest.

The Archdiocese of Detroit had already suspended Lacuesta from presiding over funerals.
