With a team-building day, you are effectively killing two birds with one stone. These kinds of activities can come in many forms, but they might be difficult to organise yourself. It is often best, therefore, to get someone in externally to help you out. A good team-building day can help you to bring everyone together in a fun and engaging way.
Get A Guest Speaker
It might go down well every once in a while to get a guest speaker to come and speak at your place of work. Often, this can be a fascinating way of breaking up the day – or the week. In fact, it might even be worth holding one of these sessions every fortnight or every month or so. Knowing who to have to speak is the main part of the battle here. Ideally, you want someone who is likely to be interesting, but that doesn’t necessarily work in the same field. Using this as an opportunity to broaden people’s mind is a good way to go. Alternatively, you could find a way to hold a series of games in one day. Chances are, most people would appreciate the chance to be away from their desk for a day. More to the point, this is often a great opportunity for your employees to really interact in a way that they normally can’t. If you get the opportunity to hold this kind of event, then you should do so.
