“Lonesome Broken and Blue” Lyrics by Adam Wakefield
Verse 1
Lovin’ you is like staring into the sun
The more I try
The faster the tears will run
Never been burned so bad by anyone
Lovin’ you is like staring into the sun
Verse 2 (omitted in the music video, but performed during the finale)
Holdin on is like trying to bottle the rain
Might last a while, but it just don’t feel the same
Well guess all that’s left to do now is douse the flame
Holdin on is like trying to bottle the rain
Lonesome, broken, and blue
Is how you left this heart that loved you so true
Might’ve broke it soft and slow
(Now all that’s left feeds the crows)
I’ve been holding on
But honey I’m just too
Lonesome, broken, and blue
Lettin’ go is like putting hot iron to the wound
It hurts like hell
But it’s something you gotta do
It’s hard to believe a hurt like this
Could be good for you
Lettin’ go is like putting hot iron to the wound
Lonesome, broken, and blue
Is how you left this heart that loved you so true
Might’ve broke it soft and slow
(Now all that’s left feeds the crows)
I’ve been holding on, but honey
holding on, but honey
I’ve been holding on
But honey I’m just too
Lonesome, broken, and blue
Note: We will update the lyrics soon. If you know the lyrics of the song, kindly left a message below.
Update 1: Thanks to Ashleigh (see comment below) for the correction. We still have to figure out the right words for one line enclosed in parenthesis. If you can decipher it, kindly leave a comment.
Update 2: Thank you to Carol and Crystal for adding the second verse. The verse was omitted in the music video, but was sang by Adam in the finale.
Music Video:
It’s like puttin’ a hot iron to the wound
“Lovin’ you is like staring into the sun
The more I try
The faster the tears will run
Never been burned so bad by anyone

Lonesome, broken, and blue
Is how you left this heart that loved you so true

I tried figuring out the (Now all that’s left feeds the crows) part but no matter how many times I listened to it I couldn’t decipher it. If I made any mistakes with the lyrics hopefully someone else will be able to fix them.
Thank you Ashleigh. I have corrected the lyrics above. Cheers to you!
Thanks AJ!
(now all that’s lefts to feed the crows) is what it sounds like in the song. But i would say it says (now all that is left is to feed the crows)
Second verse:
Holdin on
Is like trying to bottle the rain
Might last a while, but it just don’t feel the same
Well guess all that’s left to do now is [douse the flame?]
Holdin on
Is like trying to bottle the rain
Maybe… “now all that’s left’s a feast for crows?”
The video leaves out the entire second verse! I don’t understand why they did that??
Holding on is like trying to bottle the rain
It might last a while but it just don’t feel the same
I guess all that’s left to do now is douse the flame
Holding on is like trying to bottle the rain.
Thank you Carol. I added the verse to the lyrics.
Thank you Crystal. I added the verse to the lyrics.
I’m hearing nothing about crows. I’m hearing, “now all that’s left is feelings to go.” (Or grow)
Maybe “All that’s left is fields of crows”?
I think it says “all that’s left is feelings to close”
I think it says “all that’s left is feelings to close.”
