Mentored by Rita Ora, Louisa captivated viewers from the outset. She stunned in her very first audition with her soulful vocals covering ‘Who’s Loving You’, marking her out as a firm favourite with the viewers and judges alike.
Louisa’s debut single is her rendition of Bob Dylan’s classic ‘Forever Young’. Produced by Julian Bunetta, John Ryan and AFTERHRS, this beautiful and emotive track features a stunning vocal, sweet harmonies and soaring strings.
The single is available immediately for download. The CD will then be released on Wednesday 16h December and will include recordings of two of Louisa’s greatest moments on the show – ‘God Only Knows’ and ‘Let It Go’.
The release of ‘Forever Young’ will be in aid of children’s charities Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star Chase. Simco Limited will donate 100% of its profits from the sale of each CD and download and in respect of all streaming in the UK and the Republic of Ireland to be shared equally by Together for Short Lives, registered charity no. 1144022and Shooting Star Chase, registered charity no. 1042495. Simon Cowell says, “I have worked with these inspirational charities for many years and I’m delighted that The X Factor winner’s single sales will help families who are going through such unimaginably difficult times. In 2015, raising funds for hospice care is more important than ever, and both Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star Chase are important charities which support children all over the country. The money we raise will make a real difference.”
Barbara Gelb, CEO of Together for Short Lives adds, “Together for Short Lives is so thrilled to be benefiting from The X Factor Winner’s Single again this year – it means so much to families caring for the UK’s 49,000 children and young people with life- shortening conditions. These children often have very complex and unpredictable conditions and need round-the-clock-care and support 24/7. Too many families struggle to cope and feel isolated and alone, not knowing what tomorrow will bring. Working with The X Factor is transformational, helping Together for Short Lives to reach out to thousands of families. And the money raised through The X Factor Winner’s Single will make a lasting difference to the lifeline services that deliver extraordinary care to children and families – at home and in the community, helping children to live as full lives as possible.”
David Burland, Chief Executive at Shooting Star Chase, said: “We are thrilled Shooting Star Chase has been named as joint beneficiary of The X Factor charity single. It’s the best Christmas present we could ever imagine and cannot thank The X Factor enough. I see first-hand the extremely difficult circumstances children with life-limiting conditions face and am regularly humbled by the way they cope with what life has thrown at them. They tell us the support we offer keeps them going and we know that’s only possible because of the generosity of our supporters. It costs us £10 million every year to provide our vital care but we know there are many more families desperate for our support. By buying this single people will enable us to provide direct care to families at our hospices and in their own homes when they need it most.”
The X Factor has been a permanent fixture on the nation’s televisions and in the public consciousness since it first appeared on our screens in 2004.
Louisa Johnson will be headlining The X Factor Live Tour 2016, which will visit arenas nationwide in February and March. For tickets please see www.gigsandtours.com / www.seetickets.com
