Self-Driving Car Pulled Over For Slow Driving (PHOTO)

With or without a driver, a car can be ticketed! One of Google’s self-driving cars was pulled over by a Mountain View traffic cop this week after it was spotted running too slow on the highway.

Facebook user Zandr Milewski posted a photo of the incident.

Mountain View Police Department confirmed the incident, saying in a statement:

“As the officer approached [it] he realized it was a Google Autonomous Vehicle. The officer stopped the car and made contact with the operators to learn more about how the car was choosing speeds along certain roadways and to educate the operators about impeding traffic.”

Google is currently testing its self-driving technology using 21 pod-like prototype cars on the roads around its Mountain View headquarters, with a further four tootling about the streets of Austin, Texas.
