American Airlines Pilot Dies On Air From Phoenix to Boston Flight
American Airlines issued a brief statement that on Monday, saying that one of their pilots died during a flight from Phoenix to Boston.
“Unfortunately our pilot passed away. We are incredibly saddened by this event and we are focused on caring for our pilot’s family and colleagues,” an airline spokesperson said.
The flight, an A320 with 147 passengers and five crew members on board, was diverted to Syracuse, New York.
The co-pilot landed the plane safely at 7 a.m. ET Monday.
No other statement was issued about the cause of the pilot’s death.
