On Wednesday, Jimmy Fallon returned to #1 among late-night talk shows in adults 18-49 and total viewers — beating CBS’s “Colbert” and ABC’s “Kimmel” combined in 18-49 (1.24 vs. a combined 1.23) — while Seth Meyers also ranked #1 at 12:35 a.m. ET.
Both Fallon and Meyers earned their highest adult 18-49 ratings for originals since February.
On its second night opposite Colbert, Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, featuring guests Justin Timberlake and Ellen DeGeneres, grew to a 1.24 A18-49 rating and 4.064 million total viewers 2+.
· While Tuesday’s telecast fell behind Colbert in A18-49 (-37%) and total viewers (-55%), night 2 surged to a +61% lead over Colbert in 18-49s and a +11% advantage in total viewers.
· Tonight Show was up +41% in A18-49 and +39% in total viewers from the prior night (0.88 A18-49 / 2.920 million).
· This was well above the show’s A18-49 and 2+ summer-to-date averages overall (0.89 A18-49 / 3.307 million) and on Wednesday nights (0.90 / 3.304 million).
· This marks Tonight Show’s highest-rated telecast in 18-49 since Friday, 2/20/15 (1.51 A18-49).
Late Night with Seth Meyers, featuring guests Craig Ferguson and Gabourey Sidibe, earned a 0.57 A18-49 and 1.702 total viewers 2+.
· After slipping behind a Colbert-boosted Corden on Tuesday (-15% A18-49 / -30% total viewers 2+), Meyers regained his lead, more than doubling Corden in A18-49 (+119%) and up +63% in total viewers.
· Late Night was up +39% in A18-49 and +31% in total viewers from the prior night (0.41 A18-49 / 1.302 million)
· Despite the late hour, Meyers once again topped Kimmel in the A18-49 demographic (0.57 vs. 0.46).
· Meyers was well above his 0.43 / 1.417 million summer-to-date average.
· This marks Meyers’ highest-rated original in 18-49 since Wednesday 2/18/15 (0.58).
