VIDEO: Bangkok Thailand Bombing Kills At Least 16
A bomb exploded in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, on Monday night at about 19:00 local time (12:00 GMT). According to the latest report from BBC, at least 16 people died and more than 80 were injured.
The explosion occurred at a Erawan shrine in Bangkok’s central Chidlom district. A second bomb was also found in the area and was detonated.
No-one has yet said they carried out the attack.
The shrine is a major tourist attraction. The Thai government said the attack was aimed at foreigners.
Local media report that tourists, including Chinese, are among the casualties.
Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwong said: “It was a TNT bomb… the people who did it targeted foreigners and to damage tourism and the economy.”
