“He was targeted and that reason right now is unclear,” Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said at a news conference at the hospital this afternoon. “There was something in the past that upset this guy.”
Hospital President Dr. Betsy Nable said they would not be providing further details about this doctor, but Evans said he suffered “life-threatening” injuries and was in “serious condition.”
Police soon found a man matching the shooting suspect’s description dead in an examining room of what they believe to be a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.” They did not identify the shooter but said they did not think we was a patient.
