United States Issues Worldwide Travel Alert After Terrorism Acts in France
The United States State Department issued a “Worldwide Caution” alert on Friday, telling Americans abroad to be vigilant against possible terrorist threats following the recent attacks in France.
“Recent terrorist attacks, whether by those affiliated with terrorist entities, copycats, or individual perpetrators, serve as a reminder that U.S. citizens need to maintain a high level of vigilance and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness,” the department said, updating its travel alert.
The State Department warning also cites the threat from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), which has vowed to retaliate after a U.S.-led coalition launched airstrikes against the group.
