Filipino Bank Robber Records Album Inside Prison Cell and Turns It Platinum (VIDEO)
This is such a shame on the Philippines’ justice system, where the laws seemed to favor the wealthy prisoners. One example is Herbert “Ampang” Colangco, one of the 19 high-profile inmates found by Department of Justice Secretary Leila de Lima on Monday to be living lavish lifestyles inside the New Bilibid Prison‘s (NBP) maximum security compound.
Inside Colangco’s prison cell, a 60-square-meter music studio with a stage for live musical performances was discovered. In this studio, he recorded five songs composed by noted Filipino composer Edith Gallardo, for his album “Kinabukasan” (Future) that was released last year by Ivory Music.
The album, believe it or not, turned gold (7,500 copies sold) and then platinum (15,000 copies sold). An Ivory executive even presented him an award for reaching the feat. The event was held inside prison grounds.
Colangco carries the screen name Henry C.
