Hostage Pleads For Life As American Luke Somers Is Still in Al Qaeda Captivity (VIDEO)

After a raid on an al Qaeda stronghold in Yemen to free hostages, an American captive Luke Somers, who was not rescued, appeared in a video, begging for his life.

“My name is Luke Somers. I’m 33 years old. I was born in England, but I carry American citizenship and have lived in America for most of my life,” he says.

Al Qaeda’s Yemen branch published a video purporting to show the American hostage and saying he will “meet his inevitable fate,” if unspecified demands are not met.

Somers, a photojournalist, was kidnapped in September last year.
