See image below for Super Typhoon Seniang‘s projected path and track updates. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday, November 29, 2014 that they are monitoring Typhoon Seniang which is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
Seniang, aka Storm Hagupit, has formed about 1500 miles east of the Philippines. It is expected to take advantage of very warm waters and low wind shear to intensify into a major Category 3 typhoon later this week. Super Typhoon Seniang may be a threat to the Philippines this weekend, based on models. However, another model predicts that the storm will recurve to the north and miss the Philippines.
