$3,750 Bottle Of Wine In Dinner Bill Stuns Customer
Don’t be fooled by the numbers you hear. Joe Lentini, a diner at the casino’s Bobby Flay’s steakhouse, thought that “thirty-seven fifty” is indeed $37.50 when he ordered a bottle of wine. He was stunned when he saw on the bill that the wine, a 2011 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, was actually $3,750.
“We were shocked,We couldn’t believe it,” the Lentini told NJ.com. “I don’t know much about wine at all. I asked the waitress if she could recommend something decent because I don’t have experience with wine.. . . She pointed to a bottle on the menu. I didn’t have my glasses. I asked how much and she said thirty-seven fifty.”
Lentini and his dinner partners disputed the charges, and the restaurant eventually charged him $2,200.
