WWE Wrestler Dies: Sean O’Haire Found Dead In His Room
Sean Christopher Haire, a gimmick MMA fighter better known by his pro wrestling name of Sean O’Haire, was found dead Tuesday morning by his father at the family’s home in Spartanburg, S.C.
O’Haire’s father found him hanged from a bedpost in his Spartanburg, South Carolina home. According to TMZ, he had apparently committed suicide the day prior, at 43. He had reportedly been depressed. Neither the Spartanburg police nor the Spartanburg County Medical Examiner’s office would confirm any details, past saying it did not appear foul play was involved, and that the investigative process on the death has only just begun.
O’Haire was best known for his appearances with the professional wrestling promotions World Championship Wrestling, the World Wrestling Federation/World Wrestling Entertainment and New Japan Pro Wrestling in the early to mid-2000s. A three time WCW World Tag Team Champion, O’Haire was named “Rookie of the Year” by the Wrestling Observer in 2000.
Upon retiring from professional wrestling in 2006, O’Haire competed in mixed martial arts and kickboxing before becoming a hair stylist.
