At least 12 people are hospitalized, two of them critically injured, following a reported food truck explosion in Philadelphia’s Feltonville neighborhood.
The incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at 3rd and Wyoming.
According to initial reports, a 40-year-old woman suffered third degree burns to nearly 100 percent of her body. A 25-year-old woman reportedly suffered second and third degree burns to nearly 100 percent of her body. A 33-year-old man also suffered first degree burns. All three victims were rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center. There is no word on their conditions at this time.
Sources tell CBS 3 nine people have also been taken to the hospital for observation.
“There was an explosion and flames at the same time. And it literally just rocked me. There’s kind of a little bit of a breeze out here today, but I swear I felt a breeze off the explosion, a neighborhood vending truck that apparently just blew up,” an eyewitness told CBS 3. “As I turned the corner and saw one of the occupants of that vehicle, apparently blown from, thrown, on fire, from the back of the vehicle, burning, smouldering. It’s not a pretty scene.”
