Just like the what the odds told, California Chrome was the clear winner on Saturday’s Kentucky Derby 2014. The colt entered the race as the 5-2 favorite.
California Chrome edged up to the leaders, finishing the 1 1/4-mile race in a time of 2:03.66.
Commanding Curve finished second, while the third-place finisher was Danza.
Wicked Strong finished fourth, followed by Samraat, Dance With Fate, Ride on Curlin, Medal Count, Chitu, We Miss Artie, General A Rod, Intense Holiday, Candy Boy, Uncle Sigh, Tapiture, Harry’s Holiday, Vinceremos, Wildcat Red and Vicar’s In Trouble.
Saturday’s attendance of 164,906 at Churchill Downs was the second-largest crowd in Derby history.
