Squirrel $300K Damage on McMillen Community Center Building
Fort Wayne Parks Department officials reported that a squirrel got into the electrical equipment of the new McMillen Community Center in McMillen Park in eastern Indiana last week, causing a power surge that damaged the heating and air conditioning systems and some parts of the boiler system. The squirrel has caused a $300K damage, according to estimates.
Parks Director Al Moll said the damage will be covered by insurance, minus the department’s $50,000 deductible.
The new Community Center is set to open June 7.
