Ovation, America’s only arts network, is currently airing season two of its original music profile series, Music Mavericks. The series looks at major figures in rock and pop music and their impact on popular culture. Using interviews, news archives, and performance footage, each 30-minute episode reveals the unique aspects of the iconic artist profiled.
Music Mavericks airs weekly Sunday nights at 7 p.m. ET.
This Sunday, March 16, Ovation is proud to present the latest episode of Music Mavericks, featuring U2. Having sold more than 150 million records worldwide, U2 is among the best-selling bands of all time. They have won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. This episode explores how four Irish “mavericks” went from humble roots in Dublin to become international superstars, as well as champions of human rights and philanthropic causes.
