A carcass of a giant oarfish was found by Marine science instructor Jasmine Santana while she was snorkeling off the coast of Southern California.
The dead 18-foot oarfish was nearly intact when found.
The Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI) scientists believe the oarfish found in Catalina recently died of natural causes.
