Philippines Earthquake Today 2013: Damaged Structures (Photos)
As we previously reported, the islands Philippines was hit by a strong earthquake on Tuesday morning, 12:32 UTC. The tremor was first reported at 7.2 magnitude and was lowered to 7.1, according to USGS. Its epicenter was located at a depth of 20 kilometres (12 mi), 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) east of Baliliphan in the central province of Bohol.
Old historic 400-year-old churches, dating back to the Spanish era have been damaged. Roads were torn apart. Here are some photos collected online as posted and shared on social media.
