Washington Navy Yard Shooting With Multiple Injuries Reported

It is confirmed that a shooting occurred at the Washington Navy Yard, Monday morning.

The Navy said three shots were fired at the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters building on the base at approximately 8:20 a.m., and naval police were treating it as an active shooter situation.

At least four people were injured in the shooting, including one police Washington, D.C., Metro police officer, police said.

About 3,000 people work in the building where the shots were fired.
