KFC 7-Foot Bucket In Waynesboro, Georgia (VIDEO)
See the KFC 7-foot bucket! It’s not every day that you return home to find a seven-foot bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken sitting outside your front door. But that’s exactly what happened to Waynesboro, Georgia resident Aleena Headrick.
“I was driving by, I saw this giant Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket in my yard, and I thought for sure I was hallucinating,” she told local NBC affiliate WAGT, “so I called my teenagers who were at home and had them go outside.”
Sure enough, there it was: A giant empty bucket of the Colonel’s finger lickin’ Original Recipe.
Headrick found the whole thing as amusing as it sounds, and soon posted a photo the mysterious monument on her Facebook page.
It wasn’t long before folks started showing up to take in the area’s latest roadside attraction for themselves, and Headrick began entertaining the idea of getting “giant mashed potatoes” to go with her bucket.
Unable to leave fun enough alone, WAGT eventually spoiled the secret origin of the unusual relic.
It seems Headrick rents the house from a man named Freddie Taylor who collects old signs. It was he who purchased the bucket and had it placed outside the property.
“That bucket right there, if you notice it, it doesn’t say KFC. It says Kentucky Fried Chicken,” Taylor said. “That bucket’s probably forty years old.”
Taylor told the station he plans to permanently display the bucket outside Headrick’s home, but she doesn’t seem to mind.
“It’s unusual, but it makes really good landmarks when people come to our house,” she said. “You can just say come down to the giant KFC bucket and turn right.”
