Marathon Runner Baby: Mother Did Not Know She Was Pregnant
A Duluth Minnesota woman, who is training to run a marathon, was surprised to learn she was pregnant and in labor. The 33-year-old Trish Staine who was training for a marathon on Sunday said that she was fine until Monday when she felt pain on her back.
An ambulance took Staine to the hospital and nurses found a fetal heartbeat, which shocked her. She was rushed into a room and five minutes later, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl who weighs 6 lb 6 oz.
“I have always been skeptical about all these TV shows with people saying ‘I did not know I was pregnant…opps I had a baby…that’s impossible..you cannot be pregnant and not know about it… there is no way that could happen’,” Staine said in an interview. “As soon as I had her, I was like, I am a believer,” she added.
Trish Staine has two older children, who are 7 and 11.
