After watching a new feature “Mermaids: The New Evidence” on Discovery Channel on May 26, 2013 about a new evidence of the existence of mermaids, I became curious of Dr Paul Robertson, the NOAA scientist who exposed the new video of the mermaid captured using a deep underwater camera.
Is Dr Paul Robertson a real scientist? Is he using a fake name in the Discovery Channel interview?
A quick Google for real mermaids all points to sites that have been blocked or seized by the Department of Justice, DOJ.

Why would they broadcast something like that and have footage from the 50 ‘s , and have the day after videos blocked and on the third day saying it’s a hoax, why why why why? I watched the shows and have come to the conclusion that someone wants this “hushed-up”. Interesting how just days after its airing, out of the blue, the show is called a fake. Why are the websites concerning Dr. Paul all under seizure by homeland security? If he is just an actor, as reported, why would any of his background be hidden. It is normal to verify a persons credentials. Is the government afraid that people will find out he really is a scientist with a history of working at NOAA? Smells a lot like Roswell all over again.

our government is afraid of what may happen if people keep seeing these things on mermaids. I don’ understand why if these creatures are the actual link to our evolutionary track, they could be our descendants/ ancestors for all we know. They aren’t causing us any harm, and I am glad they are staying hidden in the deep, who knows what the government is doing now to try and find them. I found the evidence in both documentaries to be quite compelling regardless of the disclaimer at the end. The disclaimer reads:

I saw this documentary twice. There is compelling evidence. I am 60+ years old and years before this documentary, I have believed that unknown aquatic life forms exist. As regards mermaids, one need look no further than rock carvings, paintings, etc. made by diverse and totally unrelated cultures that depict mermaids. There depictions go back hundreds of years. Surely, there must have been something that inspired/prompted the ancients to depict these beings of the deep. I think these depictions are even more compelling than the documentary itself. We do need to keep an open mind.
The political involvement by the powers that be is only because of the testing of high power sonar waves that are capable of harming marine life on a large scale. There is a lot of information on the net about the effects of sonar waves. Quite honestly, there is no need for a cover-up. Just go and do the dirty work where innocent beings of the deep will not be affected adversely. This is what is not fair. Politicians claim to “love and protect and preserve” animal life forms. Is this just lip service ?? And why just single out the subject of mermaids and desperately try and prove they do not exist ?? I have (2) theories about these creatures/lifeforms if they do truly exist: 1. They could be an undiscovered species from thousands or millions of years ago, from a large continent, that supposedly and unexpectedly vanished into the ocean without a trace !?. 2. I agree partly, with the previous comment. That “Animal Planet” is doing some “SyFy Channel” related programming. But, I honestly believe that they are doing it, for a very good reason, to raise awareness for animal rights activists, animal lovers, as well as the military and politicians. That the U.S. Navy testing, of experimental sonar, and H.A.A.R.P.*(re: high freq. waves emitted into our atmosphere), is truthfully, harming, and killing marine wildlife, such as whales, and dolphins by the hundreds. Unless, I see a mermaid for myself, encounter a bigfoot in the forest; or a U.F.O.lands on the whitehouse lawn; I am a little skeptical that these things do really exist ?. I love domesticated animals, dogs, and appreciate and respect all the wildlife on this planet, as well as the next person. If they really did, they would keep it a secret. Because, human history has shown, that when ever a new race of people, or species were discovered, we have to conquer and overcome them to near extinction. Aka: the “Native Americans”, anfd the “Buffalo”, comes to mind. Until, we protected the Buffalo as an endangered species, and the government protected all native americans on “reservations”. Perhaps, someday people will be told the truth about what goes on “behind the scenes” ?.

My daughter and I where watching the videos with the sound records and my autistic daughter told me they said swim away and then she said there really hurt she is 4 years old and can barley talk that was the most I heard come from her. But I still believe mermaids most likely exist. We have only recorded a small percentage of animal life on this planet – and mermaids have been spotted so often throughout the ages. It almost seems unlikely they don’t exist.
Most likely a mixture of drunken sailors, and manatees, and lonliness at sea.
Dr. Robertson, I watched animal planet last night “mermaids the real evidence” I found it fascinating. I believe that they do exist! I got goosebumps when the hieroglyphics was shown on the wall of the cave in Egypt. I hope one day you can beat big brother at their game and show the world what you know to be true.

I am a lover of all animals wild/domestic, and so Is my wife. We believe in animal rights, and preserving any species from being harmed, abused, or from extinction. But, show me actual tangible evidence of the existence of mermaids, and then I will be a believer. I can tell that the former NOAA scientists, from Discovery channel’s “Mermaids Evidence Found” shows are def. amateur actors. Also, the video footage of a mermaids hand, dying mermaid on a beach, are CGI computer animations. I don’t appreciate being told, shown; information that is false. Discovery channel, should do some special episodes on the “Harmful Effects of U.S. Navy Sonar Testing on Whales”. Because, I believe the beaching of 100’s of whales around the world, from harmful military testing, should be the focus, from now on. Please, don’t lie to the American people, just come forward and tell the truth. The public, is very informed and more educated now, than 40 years ago. I know Discovery Channel has very good intentions, to save marine wildlife, from harm. It’s appreciated, but, come on folks, be truthful, to the public. Thank You.
I suppose I would like to believe in fantasy/syfy stuff. Are there government cover-ups……SURE. There will always be an elite bunch who believe that the general public or “regular” folks just couldn’t comprehend something out of the ordinary. Philadelphia Experiment in the 40’s. There was a book, prominent scientists were mentioned but it was chalked up as science fiction. I personally met one of the scientists that worked on the project (still working for the government in the 70’s) He confirmed that “they” did make a destroyer disappear using magnetic resonance. I say believe what you want but there is so much going on at different levels and directions, there is really no keeping up with it; at least not from your PC at home. Military-industrial complex would block this knowledge because of penchant to develop weapons, in this case sonar that kill marine mammals. Massive amounts of dead marine life have washed up on shore after tests, but of course denying responsibility, thinking things through before doing them, is not one of weaponzied mens ideas of how things should be done, they just do it and deal with consequences afterwards by denying it was them apriori. Look no further than nuclear testing at Bikini Atoll, Marshal Islands, still radioactive 60 years afterwards, no spark of life atom found. They just dont get it, and never will. the government very well may be hiding the truth , but i have been digging around for the past couple of years and i couldn’t help but notice maybe mermaids ARE real , but that’s not what they found. rumors have told us much about “aliens” and how they’re living on earth and they have abilities that WE don’t. and as of MY opinion i feel like what they very may well have seen was an alien , check out their footage of the two cameras they used. the hands were webbed , the eyes were black and huge! and the body was oddly shaped , they’re were no sort of appearances of any scale like or “fins” . i think what they had seen that day/evening/night was an alien. i don’t care if i sound foolish i stick with my statement! i am trying to find out if they have contact information , an email or something possibly.
I believe in Aliens, *(Not Illegal Aliens) are real, but not mermaids. I’ll tell you why:
1. You can tell from Discovery Channel’s videos that the objects are “photo shopped”, as I have experience with this area.
2. Discovery Channel is all for conservation of the whales, due to the Navy’s sonar, and secret underwater top secret projects, harming marine life.
3. Not enough support for conservation programs for the whales; so Discovery made up a new species, to get peoples attention.
4. Subscribe to Discovery Channnel’s email news feeds, and look at the articles. Its very apparent that “Discovery” editors, and ownership are not very scientific, and totally full of B.S. !.
