40 Patients Escape Mental Hospital In Kenya
Police are now searching for the 40 patients who escaped from the Mathari Mental Hospital in Kenya on Sunday.
The mental facility which hosts a total of 75 mental patients reported to the police that 40 of them escaped from the facility at 8.45 pm on Sunday.
The Starehe Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Samuel Kanampiu who spoke to the Nation said security officials have been mobilized to hunt them down.
No cases of violence have so far been reported as a result, Mr Kanampiu said.
The Nairobi based facility is a national referral hospital for psychiatry and the main teaching psychiatric hospital.
