Wife Killed Over HIV Fear That Husband Has Given The Virus To Her
A 63-year-old Eugene Maraventano from Phoenix called 911 on Saturday to report that he had killed his wife over HIV fear. He thought that he had given his wife the HIV virus after sleeping with prostitutes years earlier.
Fox News reports:
According to court documents, Maraventano killed his wife, Janet, in their bed because he feared he may have contracted HIV from prostitutes years earlier and given it to her.
He said he killed his 27-year-old son, Bryan, over concerns he was mentally disabled because he didn’t have a girlfriend, couldn’t get a job and played video games all day.
Court documents do not say if Maraventano is HIV positive.
Police said that Maraventano reported the murder on Saturday but committed the crime on Thursday.
Washington Post reports that Maraventano tried several times to kill himself but failed.
